Boris Stepanov's premieres and debuts at the Mariinsky Theatre in 2022

Boris Stepanov's debut at the Mariinsky Theatre was in 2007 when he performed the tenor part in Alexey Miroshnichenko's ballet to the music by Leonid Desyatnikov Wie der alte Leiermann.... In 2015-2016 Boris performed several times the part of the Evangelist in Matthäus-Passion by J.S. Bach in the Mariinsky Theatre Concert Hall, and in April 2016 — the tenor part in the B minor Mass (with the Bach Collegium Japan ensemble under Masaaki Suzuki).

Since 2022, Boris Stepanov has been actively engaged in the Mariinsky Theatre opera productions. The singer performed main roles in the premieres of three operas: Ernesto in Donizetti's Don Pasquale, Lindoro in Rossini's L'italiana in Algeri (both premieres were conducted by Valery Gergiev) and Tamino in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte (Valery Gergiev was the music director of the production; the conductor at premiere performances was Justus Frantz).

Besides this, Boris Stepanov performed the parts of Nemorino in Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore, Iopas in Berlioz's Les Troyens, Constable in Shostakovich's Nose, Belmont in a concert performance of Mozart's Die Entführung aus dem Serail excerpts.
